About Me
I am a writer, editor and translator with a PhD in Hispanic literature. I know the trials and tribulations that come with every stage of writing and have helped fellow writers through them all. I excel at stepping back from a piece, articulating what it is and is not communicating, and helping writers adjust. I also cherish the nitty gritty, from how to keep going when you’re blocked to correcting grammar, syntax and punctuation. I can’t wait to bring my eye for detail and love of words to whatever you’re working on.
Why Write
Writing is a dialogue, with others and with ourselves. It’s hard to remember this as you labor at it alone though.
Yes, it can be difficult, but it’s essential. Not only are more and more of our daily communications done in print, but writing is a way of making your ideas grow. When we go through the process of articulating our thoughts for someone else, we see them more clearly. While we may believe we understand something entirely while it’s in our heads, it is by externalizing it, holding it out as an object and an offering, that it acquires true shape. This process can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be, and you don’t have to do it all alone.
